NOTRE DAME RELIGIOUS EDUCATION - NDRE

REGISTRATIONS

Welcome to our Notre Dame Religious Education Program - NDRE  2017 - 2018

Here at Notre Dame we believe that following Jesus is joy and a life-long journey that begins at Baptism and continues into eternity. To that end we offer catechesis for our children Grades K-8 with each program specifically designed to teach your child the ‘good news’ in a way that excites them to ‘learn it’ and challenges them to ‘live it’! And we are proud to announce NEW for 2017-2018 the addition of KINDERGARTEN (Sundays only)

    SACRAMENTAL PREP PROGRAM

The SACRAMENTAL PREP PROGRAM is a two year program beginning in 1st Grade and completed in 2nd Grade which prepares the children specifically for the reception of the sacraments of First Reconciliation; received in December and First Holy Communion; received on the first Saturday in May.  Children must be enrolled in both years to receive these sacraments. Matrices are in place to assist students who arrive mid-stream. Please contact the Religious Education Department directly for more information.

In 1st Grade, the children learn the basic truths of the faith and their first prayers.  In 2nd Grade, the children progress to learning the prayers specific to each sacrament and they learn about the Eucharist and the Mass; they learn the parts of the Mass, the progression of the Mass as well as how to attend and participate in the Mass.

FORMATION MEETINGS:There are (3) SACRAMENTAL PREP formation meetings which are required in 2nd Grade: Two (2) - Parent /Child Retreats and one (1) - Parent only meeting. These retreats/meetings are a mandatory component to complete the preparation process and to insure that the children are as fully prepared and confident as possible to receive these very special sacraments.
