The role of the Extraordinary Minister is to draw faith from the people-it is a sharing in the preaching, teaching and leading aspects of the church. The Extraordinary Minister is responsible for assisting the celebrant and deacon in distributing communion in the form of the Body and Blood of Christ. Ministers are assigned to serve once or twice a month and can choose preferred mass times. Families who have members serving in various liturgical ministry roles i.e. altar servers, choir, greeters, etc., are kept together at one mass. Two-hour training classes are regularly scheduled. A guide book is provided.
