The fourth grade class helped to
make the paper wreathes.  The children learned
that there are four Sundays in Advent.  Advent means
coming and we are waiting for Baby Jesus to come.
They learned that the colors are purple and rose.
Purple is because we are waiting and impatient for
Baby Jesus to come and the rose is because Advent is
half over and Baby Jesus will soon be here.  The Third
Sunday is  Gaudette Sunday.  Gaudette was the first
word in the opening prayer at Mass.  It means
rejoice.  We rejoice because Jesus will soon be here.
The green leaves of our Advent wreathes are in the
shape of hands.  We need to give a helping hand to
others during Advent because that is what we are
called to do as a child of God.
