Our Mission: As a parish, we come together in the Catholic Faith to celebrate God’s goodness and presence. Strengthened by Word and Sacrament, we strive to relate the Gospel to our everyday lives, to build unity in spirit and purpose, and to minister to the needs of one another and the larger community.
Stewardship is based on the fact that all that we have and all that we are comes from God. We commit ourselves to stewardship as a way of thanking God for all His blessings; returning to Him a portion of the time, talent, and treasure he has allotted to us. Each week, we choose what will be done with the 168 hours we have available to us. Good stewardship of time means we will share some of that time with God in prayer, praise and thanksgiving, and some time caring for the needs of others.
Every person has a flair for something. Good stewardship of talent means we identify our talents and use them to glorify God and to help other people.
Through the efforts of dedicated parishioners and staff members alike, Notre Dame Parish is able to offer members of its faith community a variety of services and support, as well as the means with which to be of greater service to members in need.
If you are interested in participating in any of our parish ministry activities please contact the parish office at email@example.com or one of the ministry leaders below.

P.A.D.S. – Public Action to Deliver Shelter
Notre Dame P.A.D.S. (Public Action To Deliver Shelter) is a ministry that works to provide shelter and food for homeless persons and families. We are one of the congregations affiliated with DuPage PADS, a not-for-profit organization that is committed to end and prevent homelessness in DuPage County. Working together with volunteers from Holy Trinity Parish in Westmont, we provide sleeping arrangements, meals and other hands-on services from 6pm to 7:30am at a local shelter on the first weekend of each month. Volunteers are needed to work all shifts and to help with set-up, meal preparation and serving, clean-up, and laundry.
Once a month, from October to April, volunteers from Notre Dame and Holy Trinity, staff the PADS site at Community Presbyterian Church in Clarendon Hills. This ministry provides each guest with a bed, sleeping space, two warm meals and a bag lunch. Volunteers are needed to staff four-hour shifts, donate and prepare meals for guests, and wash bedding.
Parish Auction and Dinner Dance
This annual parish fund-raising event benefits religious education and school programs. Held in early November, the Auction/Dinner Dance committee looks for donations of goods and services for their silent auctions, and assistance in all phases of planning, publicity and execution of this event. If you would like to assist in any way with this great event email firstname.lastname@example.org
Prayer Shawl Ministry
Learn to knit or crochet with this ministry!
All parishioners, including men, are invited to come and learn the basic stitches necessary to complete prayer shawls and blankets for those in need. Patterns are available, as well as experienced knitters/crocheters who are ready and willing to get you started on this relaxing, stress-reducing activity. You provide your own needles and yarn.
Completed items are presented to the needy with a prayer, knowing that they were made with caring and compassionate prayer on behalf of the Notre Dame community. The Prayer Shawl Ministry meets on Wednesdays at 1:00 pm in the Marian room, except when they take a summer hiatus. For more information on this wonderful outreach ministry, contact the Parish Office.
Notre Dame offers many opportunities to enrich your spiritual life. In addition to our Parish Mission, Adult Enrichment programs and Bible studies, please consider the following:
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament
Eucharistic Adoration provides parishioners with a unique opportunity to pray in quiet solitude in our Adoration Chapel in the presence of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.
Our Adoration Chapel is open to everyone; adults, teens, children! If you would like to visit the Chapel Mondays through Thursdays from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, stop by the parish office and someone will unlock the door for you. If you are interested in signing up to visit on a regular basis or would like to adore before or after normal hours, please email: email@example.com.
Prayer is the living relationship of the children of God with their Father who is good beyond measure, with His Son Jesus Christ and with the Holy Spirit. The many opportunities for prayer at Notre Dame include:
First Saturday Fatima Devotions
This prayer group meets on the first Saturday of every month to fulfill our Lady’s requests. The recitation of the Holy Rosary and prayers to our Lady of Fatima immediately follow the first Saturday 8:00 am Mass.
Legion of Mary
The object of the Legion is the glory of God through the holiness of its member, developed by prayer and active participation in the Church’s work. This includes conducting Bible studies, holding Catholic great books discussions, hospice ministry, Sacred Heart Holy hour and many others. The Legion of Mary meets on Wednesdays, 9:30-11:00 am in the Marian Room.
